Alabama Ballet Presents American Portraits
October 2–4, 2026
BJCC Theatre
Alabama Ballet opens its 2026–2027 season with American Portraits, a mixed-repertory program featuring works by Christopher Stuart and George Balanchine.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, October 4 at 2 p.m.

Antiques at the Gardens
October 1–4, 2026
Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Antiques at the Gardens is an annual Birmingham tradition bringing together antiques, art, design, gardening, and special programming at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

The Birmingham Zoo and Alabama Symphony Orchestra are teaming up for Symphony Goes Wild! on Sunday, October 4.

Barber Vintage Festival
October 9–11, 2026
Barber Motorsports Park
Motorcycle enthusiasts from around the country will gather at Barber Motorsports Park for the 21st annual Barber Vintage Festival.
The three-day event includes vintage motorcycle racing, a large swap meet, stunt shows, manufacturer demonstrations, live entertainment, family activities, and access to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum.

Sloss Furnaces
Music fans can head to historic Sloss Furnaces for two days of live music during Furnace Fest.

Hoots & Howls at the Birmingham Zoo

Birmingham Zoo
Families can celebrate Halloween at the Birmingham Zoo during the annual Hoots & Howls celebration.
Activities include candy stations, magic shows, animal presentations, a costume parade and contest, a Dino Dance party, and other family-friendly activities.

October 31, 2026
Legion Field
October wraps up with one of Birmingham's biggest annual traditions: the Magic City Classic.
The 85th football matchup between Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University takes place Saturday, October 31, at Legion Field. The day's festivities also include the annual Magic City Classic Parade and a pregame tailgate.
The parade begins at 8 a.m., the tailgate runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
